The Scottish Dark Sky Observatory – Loch Doon, Dalmellington, Ayrshire KA6 7PZ
This publicly accessible educational observatory has some of the darkest skies in the UK and has two large telescopes through which to observe the night sky.
Galloway Astronomy Centre – Located approx 20 miles south of the Internationally recognised Gold Award Dark Sky Park at the Galloway Forest.
Mills Observatory – Dundee – Britain’s first purpose-built public observatory enjoys a magnificent woodland setting on the summit of Balgay Hill.
The Royal Observatory, Edinburgh – unique among UK scientific establishments, in that it houses, on a single site, a university astronomy research group, an establishment of a UK Research Council and a Visitor Centre.
