Telling the story of HM Gretna #
The Devil’s Porridge Museum explores the stories of the Solway Military Coast during the Second World War and beyond, while also commemorating HM Factory Gretna, the largest munitions factory in the world during the First World War.
Through the use of artefacts, information panels, film and audio, photographs, and oral histories, the museum brings the intriguing history of this Border area to life!
The Devil’s Porridge Museum and the Haltwhistle Film project produced a short documentary film that delves into the lives of 30,000 individuals (12,000 of them were women) who worked at HM Factory Gretna during World War One).
